THE DECISION BEHIND EVERY REPAIR

An estimate is an opinion until someone qualified tests it.

Repair estimates arrive built on assumptions about method, times and parts. Left unchecked, those assumptions set the cost of the claim. Our engineers review the damage, the proposed method and the figures before authority is given, so what is agreed reflects what the repair requires.

01

Review

Images, estimates and damage reports are examined by a qualified engineer.

02

Assess

Repairs, labour, parts and paint are tested against Thatcham methods and Audatex times.

03

Authorise

A supported repair figure is agreed or the vehicle is called as a total loss.

SPEED WITHOUT A SITE VISIT

Remote review takes the waiting out of the decision.

A physical inspection adds days to a claim and rarely tells us more than good images and a structured estimate. Desktop review turns assessment around in hours, keeps vehicles moving through the network, and means the repairer is not standing still waiting for authority.
Before an engineer opens the file, automated triage matches it against the client’s knowledge base and flags the estimate items that need scrutiny. Estimates are pulled through Audatex and checked against the client’s allowed menu items, with any allowable item missing from the estimate treated as a saving, and Zone 99 miscellaneous costs are validated against policy, so engineer time goes on the items that actually move the figure.

01

Submission

Images, estimate and damage detail are received from the repairer.

02

Engineering

A qualified engineer reviews method, times, parts and paint operations.

03

Decision

Repair authority, a revised figure or a total loss call is issued.

04

Audit

The final invoice is checked against what was authorised.

WHERE THE COST IS ACTUALLY DECIDED

What the engineer is looking for.

01

Repair Method

Repairs judged on damage; dual signatures required for complex structural and EV work.

02

Labour Times

Times tested against published standards rather than accepted as claimed.

03

Parts and Betterment

Parts choice, availability and pre-existing damage identified and accounted for.

04

Total Loss Threshold

The repair or write-off decision taken early, on evidence.

Engineering is the difference between a cost and a controlled cost.

Images, estimates, engineering notes and authority history all sit against a single claim file, so every decision can be traced back to the evidence it was based on. Because the engineer works in the same system as the repairer and the claims handler, authority is issued in hours without documents moving between businesses.

01

Accurate authority

Repairs approved at a figure the evidence supports.

02

Fewer delays

Decisions in hours rather than after a site visit.

03

Earlier total loss calls

Vehicles identified before hire and storage build up.

04

Invoice discipline

Final costs matched to what was agreed.
